This post requires working a rolling shift pattern with weekly alternating shifts and regular weekend cover. The rota pattern is 4 shifts on followed by 2 rest days. Each block of 4 shifts alternates between 8:00 am – 4:30 pm and 1:30 pm – 10:00 pm.

£29,167 to £30,934 per annum
About the Role
Kent County Council’s Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking (UAS) Children’s Service provides accommodation and support to newly arrived UAS children in Kent. The Service is developing as a centre of excellence nationally and is seeking passionate individuals to join the Reception Centre team.
The Reception and Safe Care Services are Kent County Council owned, Ofsted regulated children’s homes and supported accommodation, collectively termed Reception Centres. The Limes, based in Dartford, provides supported accommodation for UAS children aged 16-17 years old, with a capacity of up to 50 children. Located in a residential area, The Limes offers access to local recreational spaces and community services, with established links to local organisations providing a variety of experiences for children.
This Reception Centre is subject to Ofsted regulations for Support Accommodation 2023.
As a Reception Centre Day Support Worker, you will work alongside UAS children, providing direct support in a residential setting. The role involves managing routines, setting goals for young people, timekeeping, and facilitating a learning culture within the centre. You will play a vital part in supporting children during their early stages in the UK, helping to shape and influence their resettlement journey.

Experience
Experience working alongside Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking children and providing support in a residential setting is required.
About you
You should be enthusiastic about working with adolescents, understand the UAS children’s journey, and be committed to achieving the best outcomes for them. You must be able to work effectively within a team and adapt to a rolling shift pattern including weekends.
This role requires a command of spoken English sufficient for effective job performance as per statutory requirements.
The post is customer-facing and subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Qualifications
