About the Role
The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazon plays a critical role in keeping vital machinery operational at all times. As an RME Technician, you will perform proactive and reactive maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment within a live distribution warehouse environment. Your responsibilities include carrying out preventative maintenance, diagnosing faults, and implementing repairs promptly to minimise downtime and ensure safety. You will use the latest tools and technologies to maximise equipment effectiveness and support continuous improvement projects across multiple EU sites. Working closely with senior colleagues and contractors, you will help maintain mechanical handling equipment and facilities, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. This role offers opportunities to contribute to innovative projects involving advanced automation technologies such as Amazon Robotics and Complex Item Sorters. You will also support the development of on-site apprentices and help roll out best practices to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
About the Team
The RME team is a technically skilled, collaborative group responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment across Amazon’s global fulfilment centres. The team handles everything from installing automated packaging systems to ensuring buildings meet legal safety requirements. With experienced leaders guiding the team, there are many opportunities for career progression within Amazon. The team’s focus is on reducing downtime to enable timely customer deliveries, often working outside regular hours to minimise disruption.
Experience
- Completed a full Engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject
- Relevant experience as a qualified engineer
- Experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance
- Advanced proficiency in the local language, both verbal and written
Preferred Experience
- Condition-based monitoring
- Working with print and apply machines
- Fault-finding and maintenance of conveyor or automation systems

Qualifications
