About the Role
The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazon plays a critical role in keeping vital machinery operational at all times. As an RME Technician, you will perform proactive and preventative maintenance on a wide range of site equipment, carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse, and use the latest tools to maximize equipment effectiveness. You will uphold all health and safety policies and practices to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
In this role, you will support the development and progression of on-site apprentices and contribute to continuous improvement projects, rolling out best practices across multiple EU sites. Your day-to-day tasks will include planned maintenance, responding promptly to breakdowns, investigating faults, implementing solutions, and suggesting long-term improvements. You will also undertake general maintenance tasks such as painting and plumbing and liaise with contractors when external expertise is required.
Working alongside experienced colleagues, you will be based on-site to respond quickly to machinery issues, supporting Amazon’s commitment to delivering customer orders on time. The role involves working various shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, and night shifts, to minimize disruption and maintain site efficiency.
The RME team is technically minded and collaborative, maintaining and repairing equipment across Amazon’s global network of fulfillment centers. This includes working with cutting-edge technology such as Amazon Robotics and automated packaging systems, ensuring buildings remain legally compliant and sites operate at maximum efficiency. Experience
- Relevant experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance
- Experience with fault-finding and maintaining conveyor or automation systems preferred
- Experience with material handling equipment (MHE) safety standards and robotic operation is advantageous
- Experience in condition-based monitoring and working with print and apply machines is a plus

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- NVQ Level 3 / SVQ Level 3 / IVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Level 3 / EAL Level 3 in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics, or completion of a 4-year UK certified apprenticeship in these fields
- Associate's degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering is preferred but not essential
