About the Role
The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is seeking to appoint an Advertising and Consumer Sector Specialist member to the Review Panel. Members provide professional expertise for statutory and non-statutory reviews of proposals, decisions, and provisional decisions taken by the MHRA.
As the advertising sector and consumer understanding of medicines continue to evolve, this role requires providing technical expertise on:
- Review of provisional determinations made by the MHRA concerning the classification of products as medicines rather than consumer products
- Review of 'minded to' determinations by MHRA on the advertising of medicinal products.
Applicants must demonstrate the qualities, skills, and experience to meet all essential criteria for appointment and contribute actively to the work of the Review Panel.
Experience

They should be recognised by their peers as leaders in their field with extensive and recent experience in the specified areas. Ability to operate effectively on a national expert panel is essential. Candidates must be skilled communicators, able to assimilate complex scientific information at short notice and apply this expertise to consumer affairs.
About you
You should be prepared and able to contribute actively to the Review Panel's work. An understanding of medicines regulation is desirable, with a willingness to develop this further.
