Description
About Us Hackney is one of Britain’s most exciting and fastest-changing boroughs. We have changed the reputation, not just of the Council, but of Hackney itself. The challenges that have arisen over the last few years have intensified the need for action and we are determined to rebuild Hackney for, and with, our diverse communities. Hackney Parking Services are often leading the way in the parking industry with the main focus on best practices and performance. Hackney Council has managed to be the number one borough in Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) appeals for two years running. Hackney was one of the first Councils in the country to implement School Streets and Ultra Low Emission Zones - all of which are enforced by the parking enforcement team. Recently, the Council has brought in-house the parking enforcement operations after over two decades of the service being outsourced. An amazing opportunity has arisen to recruit into brand new positions that will be pivotal in creation, delivery and implementation of the newly insourced parking enforcement service. We are looking for exceptional candidates to join our team. You will provide organisational leadership in all areas of the parking enforcement remit including performance analysis, compiling of enforcement requirements, staff management, customer service and supplier relations. You will help us to ensure we can continue to provide excellent parking enforcement services that offer value for money. As a Road & Traffic District Manager, you will be managing teams within an allocated district of Hackney (North, Central or South). You will lead on complex parking enforcement arrangements and deployment, making sure that our resources are deployed in line with demand-led enforcement and resident’s needs. This role involves working closely with the entire Parking & Markets Service along with other internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for managing staff and resources effectively and ensuring value for money. A significant part of this role will be to lead and contribute to Parking Enforcement service development and transformation over the next few years as we embed new working practices after bringing the service back in-house You will provide organisational leadership and advice to support effective practice in all areas of parking enforcement so you must have a successful track record of working in parking services or equivalent front-line service. In this challenging and rewarding role, you will have the necessary communication and networking skills to work directly with residents and key partnering services. Your “can do” ethos, unparalleled organisational skills and problem solving abilities will empower you to manage a varied caseload, and collaborate with others to address support needs and achieve positive outcomes. You will have demonstrable experience of working in an agile context and the ability to work routinely from different locations across Hackney to best meet the needs of the communities that we serve. You will be required to successfully pass security vetting through DBS checks level to be considered for this post. There is no better place to work in London than Hackney; we have great pride in our borough, our communities, and our services. Hackney is one of London’s most vibrant and diverse boroughs. It’s one of the most sought after areas to live in London with good schools, parks and local amenities, as well as great transport links and vibrant and diverse communities.
