About the Role
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the leading cloud provider, delivering virtualized infrastructure, storage, networking, messaging, and many other services globally. AWS operates a massive, multi-tenant, globally distributed environment supporting businesses from start-ups to enterprises. We are seeking an exceptional Security Assurance Manager to join a team of technical and non-technical experts managing security assurance programs for information security, secure information handling, physical security design and accreditation, secure hardware supply chains, and AWS service assurance.
This role holds overall responsibility for ongoing assurance and accreditation processes required by customers for securely using AWS services and data centres. You will manage the portfolio and roadmap of security updates and improvements to AWS's security baseline.
You will engage with senior levels of government organisations, commercial institutions, and AWS leadership. Collaborating with Infrastructure, Networking, Application Security, and AWS Service teams, you will help build new AWS regions and maintain standards and accreditation of existing regions.
This role requires assessing risks, anticipating issues, overcoming technical obstacles, making trade-off decisions, and balancing business needs with technical constraints. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure security best practices are implemented and scalable.
Key responsibilities include identifying and managing physical, information, and insider security risks; implementing and maintaining frameworks aligned with AWS standards and customer requirements; ensuring security best practices flow through the supply chain; triaging and managing information security incidents; and developing policies or processes as needed.
You will work alongside industry-leading security experts to operate and continuously improve security programs covering personnel security, physical and logical accreditations, education, awareness, training, assurance, and cybersecurity.
This position requires UK nationality and the ability to obtain and maintain UK Government Security Clearance.

Experience
- Strong background in security risk management and governance frameworks protecting information and physical assets
- Experience driving security programs across large, diverse organizations
- Proven ability to triage and manage information security incidents
- Experience implementing security best practices and frameworks such as Information Security and Insider Threat Protection
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and influence across a matrix organization

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Auditing, Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related fields
- Leadership experience supporting rollout and implementation of new systems or processes
- UK nationality with eligibility to obtain UK Government Security Clearance
