About the Role
The AWS Security Assurance Services team, part of Amazon Web Services, leverages the expertise and ingenuity of our builders to establish scalable security solutions for both internal and external customers that drive business outcomes. Our mission is to secure the world's workloads and build a brighter future by delivering bar-raising security outcomes and investing in security mechanisms and automation on behalf of our customers. This team works closely with our largest enterprise customers to operationalize the shared responsibility model as they migrate to the cloud.

We are seeking a talented Security Assurance Solutions Architect to expand the Security Assurance practice and educate customers on how our product-led, people-powered services help operate their business securely on AWS while demonstrating assurance that compliance objectives can be achieved. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute at the intersection of cloud, cybersecurity, and compliance.

This customer-facing role involves enabling customers to move their workloads and regulated data into the cloud by addressing specific risk, regulatory, and compliance requirements. You will work with multiple lines of business and contribute to a variety of security and compliance use cases.

Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with Amazonians, partners, and customers to enhance security assurance and compliance programs.
- Defining innovative compliance and risk management approaches that help customers move sensitive workloads onto the cloud faster.
- Resolving security assurance questions and managing risk and compliance through deep dive discussions, strategic presentations, and hands-on demonstrations of automating compliance in the AWS environment.
- Partnering with AWS engineering, support, and business teams to provide customer feedback that informs AWS technology roadmaps.
- Ability to travel to customer sites as needed.

The AWS Security Assurance Services team is a PCI-QSAC and HITRUST External Assessor Firm, composed of industry-certified assessors who help customers achieve, maintain, and automate compliance in the cloud by aligning audit standards with AWS service features and functionality.

Experience
- 5+ years in IT security, compliance, risk management, data privacy, or security controls.
- Experience in risk management and internal audit including performing risk assessments and audits, designing controls, managing enterprise control frameworks, and prioritizing risk.
- 2+ years advising customers on architectures meeting industry standards and regulations such as NIST 800-53 and GDPR.
- Experience performing security assessments and information system audits of network, operating systems, application security, and IT processes.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management, Information Security, or related fields.
- Preferred certifications: CPA, CMA, CISA, CIA, CISSP, CISM, GCIH, GSEC, Security+ or equivalent.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices is a plus.
