About the Role
The Mawney Foundation School is a vibrant, diverse and inclusive school. Our wonderful pupils and wider school community make it an exciting place to learn and work. We are seeking an enthusiastic, flexible, and confident individual with excellent interpersonal skills to support pupils with SEND under the overall direction of the SENDCO and Class Teacher, working in partnership with an existing staff team. This important role involves fostering the participation of nominated pupils in the social and academic processes of the school, enabling pupils to become more independent learners and helping to raise standards of achievement. The role also includes lunchtime duty, supporting and supervising groups of pupils to ensure a safe and enjoyable provision. A background knowledge, experience and/or qualifications in ASD, preverbal children, as well as experience in the use of PECS, Makaton and attention autism would be advantageous. The post is permanent and requires a start as soon as possible.

Experience
Experience working with pupils with SEND is desirable. Knowledge and/or experience in ASD, preverbal children, and the use of PECS, Makaton, and attention autism is advantageous.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or experience related to SEND support are preferred. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure as this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
