About the Role
At FCDO Services, we protect the UK’s interests at home and overseas by designing and constructing secure government buildings, couriering diplomatic packages worldwide, safeguarding government technology, and much more. Our work is varied and vital, and we value the skills, aspirations, and growth of our people as much as the global mission we pursue.

As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will play a key role in delivering refurbishment and new-build projects typically valued between £250k and £10m. You will prepare designs, specifications, and tender drawings, providing professional surveyor advice and technical input to drive projects to completion. Your responsibilities will include site inspections to ensure projects meet contract requirements, reporting on progress, budgets, and quality, and conducting building inspections for due diligence, condition surveys, and defect diagnosis.

You will build strong relationships with stakeholders, contractors, and clerks to ensure clear and coordinated project delivery. You will ensure professional training, safety requirements, and compliance are maintained annually and stay up to date with the latest technical standards and legislation.

Your role may also include contract administration and project management, acting as lead designer on multi-disciplinary projects, contributing to cost estimates for bids, and supporting recruitment and development of team apprentices.

We offer a supportive environment with flexible working arrangements and opportunities for career growth.
