About the Role
At FCDO Services, we protect the UK’s interests at home and overseas by designing and constructing secure government buildings, couriering diplomatic packages worldwide, safeguarding government technology, and much more. Our Engineering team plans, designs, and delivers innovative solutions globally, including earthquake-proofing embassies and managing construction contracts in challenging locations.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor within our Engineering & Operations team, you will manage cost control and contract administration for major projects across a global portfolio. Your role will involve tender action, post-contract activities, and stakeholder management to ensure the successful delivery of multiple high-profile, high-value projects both in the UK and overseas.
You will liaise with Project Managers, the Design Team, and various stakeholders to provide regular project progress reports, control expenditure, ensure financial performance, and offer specialist advice. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on some of the most iconic government buildings worldwide while continuously developing your skills and those of your team.

Experience
- Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) with substantial practical experience
- Proven track record managing large and complex projects
- Provision of cost management services for all RIBA stages of a project
- Knowledge of standard forms of construction contract
- Up-to-date technical knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
- Effective relationship management, site surveying and inspection, and project governance skills
