With over 2.5 million volunteers across the UK, we are the world’s largest and most diverse health research programme of its kind. Technology and data are central to our mission, powering websites, clinics, secure analytics, research systems, and pipelines processing highly sensitive health and genetic data.

We are seeking a Senior Commercial Analyst to become a trusted analytics partner to our Commercial and Marketing teams. This exciting role sits at the intersection of analytics, market intelligence and commercial strategy. You will help identify growth opportunities, focus areas for customer engagement, and provide insights into commercial performance to inform investment and planning decisions.

You will combine strong analytical skills with commercial curiosity to transform complex data into meaningful insights. Responsibilities include market sizing, customer segmentation, pipeline performance analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Product, Revenue Operations and Data to build trusted insights that enable confident, data-informed decisions across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include developing market and customer intelligence, shaping segmentation and Ideal Customer Profiles, supporting strategic decision-making, building and scaling analytics foundations, informing commercial performance insights, supporting forecasting and planning, defining and governing commercial metrics, strengthening pipeline visibility and CRM effectiveness, supporting sales and marketing effectiveness, delivering customer and account intelligence, running performance reviews, and delivering actionable insights that influence strategy and prioritisation.

This role offers the opportunity to shape the commercial strategy behind one of the UK’s largest health research programmes, build a new commercial analytics capability, and work mission-led to help build a financially sustainable organisation enabling life-changing health research at scale.

Requirements

Experience
- Significant experience in commercial analytics, commercial strategy, market intelligence, growth analytics, or a related field
- Strong SQL skills and experience with BI tools such as Omni, Looker, Tableau, or Power BI
- Experience building data models and working with large, complex datasets
- Experience working with CRM platforms such as HubSpot or Salesforce and understanding commercial pipelines
- Experience with forecasting, scenario modelling, and commercial performance analysis
- Strong understanding of commercial and marketing metrics including conversion rates, CAC, LTV, pipeline performance, and revenue growth
- Experience developing insights that inform strategic business decisions
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence decision-making through data
- Experience facilitating business reviews and performance discussions with senior stakeholders
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving and evolving environment

Qualifications
Formal qualifications are not explicitly required but relevant experience in commercial analytics, market intelligence, or related fields is essential. Bonus points for experience in healthcare, research, data, technology, or life sciences sectors.

- Experience conducting market sizing, segmentation, and competitive analysis
- Familiarity with analytics pipelines and dbt
- Experience developing Ideal Customer Profiles (ICP), target market frameworks, or go-to-market strategies
- Experience working in commercial strategy, consulting, market intelligence, or growth functions
- Familiarity with healthcare, research, data, technology, or life sciences sectors
- Experience using external market data sources and research methodologies
