About the Role
BBC Local is seeking a dynamic and insightful Senior Content Producer to lead the production of the prestigious Make A Difference Show, broadcast on Sunday afternoons and presented by Gaby Roslin. This weekly networked show across England celebrates extraordinary contributions from individuals and organizations making a significant impact in their communities, inspired by the BBC’s Make A Difference Awards. The show combines high-profile celebrity interviews with stories of unsung heroes, creating warm, engaging content that inspires and connects listeners.

This role is part of the BBC Extend programme for disabled people. Applicants should identify as deaf, disabled or neurodivergent and meet the definition of disability under the Equality Act (2010) or Disability Discrimination Act (1995) if applying in Northern Ireland. Experience
Proven experience as a radio producer in a similar role, with strong audio craft skills.

- Creative and able to produce compelling content and think on your feet during live broadcasts.
- Thorough understanding of the BBC’s editorial guidelines and the ability to make strong, robust editorial decisions.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with the production team, presenter, and other stakeholders.
- Genuine passion for community initiatives and the ability to convey the importance of Make A Difference to listeners.
- Ability to engage audiences through social media and live call-ins, fostering community and excitement.
- Skilled at working with presenters and providing constructive feedback.
