About the Role
Moonbug Entertainment is an award-winning global entertainment company inspiring kids everywhere to laugh, learn and grow. The company is behind some of the biggest kids’ entertainment brands in the world including CoComelon and Blippi. Moonbug believes every child should have access to entertaining and enriching content, available on more than 150 video platforms globally including Netflix, Disney+, BBC iPlayer and YouTube Kids. Moonbug is also a global leader in pre-school music and audio experiences, available on 100+ audio platforms worldwide. The brands extend beyond the screen to include streaming music, toys, games, books, live events, and theme park exhibits. Moonbug is part of Candle Media, a creator-friendly home for cutting-edge, high-quality, category-defining brands and franchises, supporting accelerated, sustainable growth.

The Senior Creative Executive will serve as the creative authority and strategic lead for select active and emerging children's media franchises. You will set storytelling, visual execution, and creative brand identity across multiple touchpoints including creative strategy, development, content production, digital content, and franchise extensions while aligning with high-level business goals. This role involves directing internal creative teams and partnering closely with the General Manager, Brand Marketing team, and executive leadership to expand Moonbug’s IP footprint.

Key Responsibilities
1. Creative Strategy & IP Franchise Growth: Define and execute short and long-term creative strategies for assigned children's IPs, ensuring brand integrity and narrative longevity. Champion content that resonates with specific age demographics and understand kid consumption habits across all Moonbug platforms (streaming, VOD, YouTube, Consumer Products, gaming). Lead pitch development with the Senior Development Executive and creative packaging for greenlighting content, new series, spin-offs, and multi-platform extensions.
2. Creative Oversight & Execution: Oversee end-to-end creative workflows including bible creation, story development, content planning, character design, scripts, music, animation/live action, and post-production. Maintain show continuity, tone, and character fidelity across primary content and consumer products (merchandising, publishing, digital games). Set visual and narrative quality benchmarks aligned with digital-first production budgets and delivery schedules.
3. Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead, mentor, and build multidisciplinary creative teams (writers, art directors, educational/external consultants, showrunners, story artists). Direct external partners, studios, and freelance talent with clear creative direction and constructive feedback. Collaborate with Production, Marketing, Consumer Products, and Business Affairs to align creative execution with commercial goals.
4. Safety & Standards Compliance: Ensure all content complies with international children's privacy and broadcast standards. Stay informed on media trends, child development insights, and evolving kid-tech platforms.

Requirements

Experience
8+ years of creative development or executive production experience in children’s media (animation, live-action, or digital-first kids’ content). Proven success managing multi-season IPs or multi-platform kid franchises from pitch through release. Demonstrable team management experience with a track record of mentoring talent and managing complex stakeholder relationships.

About You
Deep understanding of the kids & family landscape including current streaming dynamics, social/digital platforms (YouTube, Roblox), and licensing/merchandising needs. Exceptional story instincts with strong visual literacy; ability to evaluate bibles, scripts, storyboards, and animatics quickly and effectively. High emotional intelligence, articulate pitching skills, and clear executive-level communication. Experience working on or developing girl-skewing children’s media and digital-first content is preferred.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or equivalent professional experience in creative development or production within children’s media are desirable but not mandatory.
