As a Senior Cyber Security Consultant focused on Security Operation and Vulnerability Management, you will play a key client-facing role improving cyber security capabilities across people, process and technology. Working closely with senior stakeholders, technical teams and operational security functions, you will assess current capabilities, identify opportunities for improvement, and design pragmatic solutions that enhance Vulnerability Management and Security Operations.
You will leverage experience gained across multiple organisations to recommend best practices tailored to each client’s operating model and technology landscape. Your work will primarily span modern cloud and enterprise IT environments, helping organisations reduce risk and vulnerabilities from cyber-attacks by developing tailored security roadmaps, improving threat management, and establishing prevention, detection and response capabilities.

Experience
- Significant experience delivering Vulnerability Management improvements from process, procedure, policy and operational delivery perspectives.
- Proven track record improving Security Operations (SOC) capabilities including operating models, processes, governance, policy and operational effectiveness.
- Previous consulting experience across multiple clients or organisations.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, advising and challenging technical teams, operational security functions, senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
- Experience leading discovery and assessment engagements, translating findings into strategic roadmaps, business cases and prioritised improvement plans.
- Strong planning, facilitation and organisational skills.
- Experience working within complex hybrid cloud and enterprise IT environments.
- Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels, taking ownership of outcomes while providing authoritative advice and direction.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

- Confident in leading workshops, planning sessions and design activities with operational teams and executive stakeholders.
- Skilled at establishing trusted advisor relationships and influencing decision-making.
- Able to provide leadership, mentoring and quality assurance across consulting workstreams.
- Comfortable managing delivery governance, reporting and risk management activities.
- Willing to undergo Security Clearance and complete Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks as part of onboarding.
Qualifications
- Desirable experience within UK Government or other highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management, Qualys, Tenable or Rapid7.
- Experience with Microsoft Sentinel or similar Security Operations platforms.
- Familiarity with security frameworks such as NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF), NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, ISO/IEC 27001.
