About the Role
Expanded are recruiting for a Senior Engineer (Sub Agent) to work on the Letchmore Heath Substation project. As a Senior Engineer, you will safely and effectively manage a set of tasks and be technically responsible for the outcomes. Reporting directly to the Project Engineer, you will manage and supervise 2 to 4 Section Engineers and any sub-contractors. Many projects utilise self-delivery, reducing reliance on subcontractors and leveraging our own workforce and engineering professionals. This includes digital engineering (BIM), off-site manufacturing (DFMA), Plant, Design, and other in-house functions.
Your key responsibilities will include managing a team of Site/Section Engineers, utilising and recommending best engineering methods, applying design process knowledge, preparing RAMS, interpreting as-built information, providing guidance to less experienced staff, completing QA documentation and record keeping, implementing ITP requirements, producing or understanding method statements, understanding temporary works and acting as Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC), and managing materials and plant including call-off schedules. You will also be expected to be aware of site HS&E procedures.
Experience
Circa 6 years relevant technical and practical experience within an engineering role in a construction delivery environment.
About you
Proactive and capable of managing teams and subcontractors effectively. Strong technical knowledge and experience in civil engineering or related construction disciplines. Comfortable working within self-delivery environments and familiar with digital engineering tools and off-site manufacturing processes. Knowledgeable in site health, safety and environmental procedures.
Qualifications
First degree in Civil Engineering or other construction-related degree, or an industry-recognised technical or engineering qualification (e.g. HNC, HND, NVQ level 4) plus demonstrable experience in construction delivery.
