Hours
Full Time - 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Flexible hybrid working arrangement with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office. Occasional work outside normal office hours and at different venues may be required. This role is not open to job share.
Salary
£61,686 per annum (pro rata for part time staff)
About the Role
As part of Southwark Council's Web and Digital Team, you will lead the strategic direction of form design across council services. Your role will ensure digital forms are accessible, intuitive, and aligned with government standards. You will mentor team members, drive innovation, and contribute to digital transformation initiatives that positively impact the services provided to residents. You will define and lead form design strategy, represent Southwark in external professional networks, engage stakeholders, set standards for usability, accessibility (WCAG), and GDPR compliance, oversee development and integration of eForms and workflows, monitor form performance using analytics, deliver training for internal eForm owners, and act as the primary liaison with business partners and suppliers for issue resolution and service improvements.

Additional Information
This is a fixed term contract for 2 years. Internal employees considering this role as a secondment opportunity should seek agreement from their substantive line manager.
Experience
- Advanced understanding of Government Digital Standards (GDS) design patterns
- Strategic knowledge of digital transformation and service design
- Expertise in form logic including branching, validation, and secure data handling
- Strong leadership and mentoring experience within design teams
- Experience influencing service design and contributing to digital policy
- Skilled in prototyping tools such as Miro, Figma, Sketch, and form builders
About You
You are an experienced and proactive Senior Forms Designer passionate about user-centred digital services. You have excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. You are motivated to drive innovation and continuous improvement while fostering a collaborative team culture.
Qualifications
Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
