Location
London Borough of Brent - Civic Centre and other locations from time to time. There is a requirement to attend the offices in Wembley or Court at least three times per week.

Within the Housing Litigation Team, the Senior Civil Litigation / Homelessness Lawyer will:
- Actively support the management of the department
- Provide high-level and proactive expert legal advice on civil litigation and homelessness matters to the Council, its members, and officers
- Serve as a point of contact for members and senior officers on legal matters related to civil litigation and homelessness
- Attend court, tribunals, or public inquiries as a Senior Lawyer, conducting high-quality advocacy
- Advise the Council and senior officers on Housing Law and related matters
- Allocate work to appropriate team members
- Monitor the quality of work undertaken by the team
- Manage a team of around four staff, ensuring adequate training and development
Experience
Strong experience in all matters relating to housing law and civil litigation. Proven ability to provide expert legal advice and conduct high-quality advocacy in court or tribunals.

A current practising certificate as a Barrister, Solicitor, or FCILEX (with litigation practice rights). A can-do attitude with confidence to lead and manage a team. Ability to anticipate problems and solve them effectively. Dependable, self-reliant, and proactive in approach.
