About the Role
The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is the organisation responsible for regulating the private security industry across the United Kingdom. As an independent arm’s length body of the Home Office, the SIA protects the public through effective regulation and partnership working to raise standards across the sector. The SIA’s remit includes compulsory licensing of individuals undertaking designated activities and managing a voluntary Approved Contractor Scheme.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Intelligence Analyst to lead and develop a high-performing team at the core of public protection, regulatory strengthening, and threat identification within the private security industry. You will manage a team of Intelligence Researchers and Analysts responsible for delivering strategic, tactical, and operational intelligence products, assessing threats and risks, and supporting mitigation through regulatory and enforcement activities.

In this role, you will provide expert intelligence analysis and risk assessment to inform business planning and operational decisions at all organisational levels. Strong people management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential, as is overseeing the timely production of high-quality intelligence products using a variety of analytical techniques.

Requirements

Experience
- Proven ability to produce and lead the production of operational, tactical, and strategic analytical intelligence products.
- Practical experience managing an intelligence function and leading a high-performing team.
- Successful completion of a nationally recognised Intelligence Analyst training programme.
- Detailed practical understanding and experience of the National Intelligence Model.
- Experience working as an Intelligence Analyst within law enforcement or a regulatory regime.
- Knowledge of legislation related to information control and processing, including Data Protection Act, GDPR, Freedom of Information Act, Human Rights Act, and Common Law Police Disclosure.
- Experience building strong working relationships to influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications
- Successful completion of a nationally recognised Intelligence Analyst training programme is essential.
- Intelligence Professionalisation Programme (IPP) accreditation (Intelligence Analyst or Senior Analyst) is desirable or the ability to obtain this within 18 months.
- Practical knowledge of relevant software such as iBase, Analyst Notebook, Microsoft CRM, and Microsoft Office is desirable.
- Practical understanding of the Private Security Act 2001 and SIA regulatory products is advantageous.
