About the Role
At Turner & Townsend, we are passionate about making a difference by delivering better outcomes for our clients and helping our people realise their potential. With over 75 years of experience, we are embarking on a new wave of growth to achieve our ambitious 2025 vision. We are currently recruiting a Senior Planning Engineer to join our Project Controls team, working on high profile construction projects across the UK and Europe. Key responsibilities include identifying trends and root causes of deviations against the baseline using lead and lag indicators, recommending remedial actions to drive best value for the client, and leading the evaluation of project time, cost, and quality targets with appropriate governance controls. You will cooperate with cost managers to ensure agreed, market-tested cost baselines and value for money, guide and influence contractors to progress in line with schedule and cash flow parameters, and act as the key client contact to resolve delivery and commercial issues while preparing formal and ad hoc reports.
Additional duties involve controlling costs through conceptual estimating and procurement principles, creating cost reports and executive dashboards, leading change management processes, coordinating planning sessions and workshops, managing vendor schedules, participating in risk evaluations using Monte Carlo simulations, and ensuring timely and accurate schedule updates adhering to quality standards.
Turner & Townsend fosters an entrepreneurial culture where employees at all levels can influence the business and own their careers. We promote a healthy, productive, and flexible working environment that respects work-life balance and supports success both professionally and personally.

About you
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, rigorous adherence to documented processes and governance, and the ability to innovate creatively to meet the challenges of a changing project environment. You should be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work collaboratively within remote and diverse teams.
