About the Role
The Greater London Authority is seeking a Senior Policy and Project Officer to join the Financial Hardship team. This role involves providing impartial policy advice to the Mayor of London and the London Assembly on issues related to poverty and financial insecurity. You will engage with various stakeholders to shape and deliver programs aimed at supporting Londoners on low incomes. Your responsibilities will include writing briefings and consultation responses, supporting the scrutiny of GLA activities, maintaining an overview of policy developments, and ensuring projects adhere to governance and finance processes.
What Your Day Will Look Like
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver impactful programs
- Writing briefings and consultation responses on behalf of the Mayor
- Supporting the scrutiny of GLA activities by responding to inquiries from London Assembly members
- Keeping abreast of developments in policy and legislation
- Ensuring project delivery aligns with governance and finance processes
Experience
- Expert knowledge and experience of social policy, particularly within a London context.
- Proven track record in project management, delivering results on target and within budget.
- Understanding of policy development processes in a complex political environment, with strong analytical skills.
