About the Role
We are supporting a client seeking an experienced Senior Power BI Developer to deliver high-quality reporting and analytics solutions across the business, with a focus on Finance and Retail data. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work across the full Power BI lifecycle, from data modelling and advanced DAX development to stakeholder engagement and production-ready dashboards. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, Data Engineers, and Analysts to design, build, and optimise scalable Power BI solutions that enable data-driven decision making. Key responsibilities include designing and developing Power BI dashboards and reports, building robust semantic models using Star Schema principles, developing advanced DAX measures and Power Query transformations, optimising report performance and refresh processes, integrating data from multiple sources including SQL Server, Azure, Databricks, APIs, Excel, and SharePoint, managing Power BI Service, gateways, deployments and Row-Level Security (RLS), collaborating with engineering teams on metric calculations, and supporting governance, documentation, and reporting best practices.

Experience
- Strong commercial experience with Power BI Desktop and Service
- Advanced skills in DAX, Power Query (M), and SQL
- Expertise in data modelling using Star Schema principles
- Proven track record delivering performant enterprise reporting solutions
- Solid understanding of ETL and data warehousing concepts
- Experience developing dashboards focused on Finance and Retail data
- Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Azure SQL, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
- PL-300 certification is desirable
- Knowledge of Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) is a plus
