About the Role
Hackney Borough Council is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join the Preparing for Adulthood Service (PfA) as a Senior Practitioner. You will be part of a dynamic, integrated multi-disciplinary community service providing specialist health and social care to adults with learning disabilities and complex needs within Hackney.
In this role, you will support practitioners at all career levels through supervision and deputise for the Team Manager, helping the team deliver the best outcomes for residents. The PfA service is committed to supporting young people aged 18-21 to lead independent lives, promoting wellbeing through a strength-based, trauma-informed, and inclusive approach.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team including psychology, psychiatry, nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, dietetics, and speech and language therapy. The role offers exposure to a wide range of social work activities, from Care Act assessments and safeguarding to complex court of protection and mental health admissions.

Experience
- Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
- Significant post-qualification experience in statutory Adult Services
- Experience providing supervisory or management support to social work practitioners
- Preferred experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism

Qualifications
