About the Role
As a Senior Programme Officer (Medical) within the NHS, you will support the delivery of agreed programme plans and assist in completing relevant reporting for programme delivery. You will identify and utilise opportunities for collaboration and support the effective delivery of the programme within agreed timescales. Your responsibilities will include project managing specific pieces of work and supporting the analysis of intelligence, trends and relevant research in the subject area to influence strategic decision making for the NHS.

You will identify, develop and maintain stakeholder relationships both internally and externally through cross-team collaboration and engagement, listening to views and ideas to shape future programme development and delivery. Ensuring the employer position is clearly represented and understood will enable a stronger understanding of how current policies impact employers and help represent employer views in national discussions and negotiations.

Additional duties include overseeing and providing high quality secretariat support for national meetings of employer and trade union representatives, which involves preparing agendas, requesting and drafting meeting papers, writing minutes, following up actions and project managing meetings. You will also manage networks, facilitating where required, and produce bulletins and newsletters in support of these networks.

Developing and maintaining new and existing resources and content to support the work programme is a key part of the role, including suggesting, promoting and celebrating examples of good practice and providing support to facilitate solutions in areas of key challenge. You will be responsible for amending and updating the website as necessary.

Supporting the team to respond to queries from employers related to medical and dental pay, reward and employment relations, as well as supporting the evaluation of the programme by collating feedback and assisting with adapting the programme of work to meet the needs of the commissioner and employers, are also important aspects of this role.

Requirements

Experience
Experience in programme or project management, stakeholder engagement and working within a healthcare or medical environment is highly desirable. Proven ability to analyse intelligence, trends and research to support strategic decision making is essential. Experience in managing meetings and providing secretariat support is required.

About you
You will be an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to build and maintain relationships across diverse teams and external stakeholders. You should be organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities within agreed timescales. A collaborative approach and the ability to represent employer views clearly in national discussions is important.

Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in programme management, healthcare, public administration or related fields are advantageous but not mandatory. A commitment to continuous professional development and learning is expected.
