About the Role
Working at the UK Parliament offers a unique and rewarding career at the heart of the UK's democratic system. The Projects Team, within Parliamentary Maintenance Services Team (PMST), maintains the Parliamentary Estate (Commons & Lords) buildings, engineering systems and furnishings to ensure a fully functioning, safe working environment for the many thousands of people who work in and visit Parliament. We currently have approximately 50 projects with an annual spend of £10m; we aim to improve the predictability of our projects from both a time and cost perspective whilst not compromising on quality or safety. As part of PMST, the Projects function focuses on asset enhancements related projects, asset replacement & renewal, and acting as the first and last point of contact between maintenance and larger capital projects.
Experience
Proven experience managing multiple building maintenance projects or major projects with multiple packages.
About you
Excellent interpersonal, management, and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships between staff, managers, contractors, and stakeholders. Demonstrable working knowledge of Health & Safety in maintenance/construction environments. Familiarity with Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulations and knowledge of NEC contracts.
Qualifications
Degree educated (or minimum equivalent NVQ L6) in Electrical Engineering. Chartered in a relevant professional body or working towards Chartered status.
