About the Role
The Senior Project Manager will help deliver the BBC's organisation-wide approach to Generative AI. This role involves working across a range of projects, both internally and externally facing, including supporting industry partnerships and activity. You will be responsible for analysis, planning and delivering on BBC priorities in a complex and evolving landscape.

The Generative AI Programme, part of the Strategy & Transformation team, helps the BBC realise value from rapidly evolving Gen AI capabilities in a way that is practical, responsible and aligned to the BBC's public service mission. The team enables adoption of AI tools across the organisation, fosters innovation, finds opportunities to use AI to work more efficiently, and leads the BBC's engagement on wider AI issues that shape the operating environment.

Your Key Responsibilities and Impact
Support the Head of Generative AI Direction to drive forward work on wider AI issues shaping the BBC's operating environment, including protecting BBC content against unauthorised use and AI literacy and skills. Deliver analysis of market developments, opportunities and external issues relating to AI, translating these into practical implications for the BBC. Manage a range of Gen AI projects, turning direction into clear plans, milestones, outputs and decisions in collaboration with teams across the organisation. Lead projects involving external partners and other media organisations. Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support delivery across a complex and fast-moving area of work.

Experience
- Delivering strategic projects, external partnerships or cross-functional programmes of work.
- Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support delivery across complex and fast-moving areas.
- Working with multiple stakeholders to establish common positions on complex issues.
- Good understanding of the AI landscape, including relevant industry developments and implications for media, content and audiences.
- Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage sensitive issues with sound judgement.
- Strong analytical skills to assess complex information and data, identify key implications and produce clear, actionable insights.

Proactive and collaborative with the ability to navigate complex environments and deliver results. Comfortable working in a fast-evolving field and managing multiple priorities. Strong interpersonal skills to engage with diverse teams and external partners.

Commercial and/or editorial experience is welcomed but not essential.
