We are recruiting a Senior Project Manager to support a strategic client in the energy sector on a major electricity transmission project. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to our expansion and deliver distinctive value by managing and delivering key projects and programmes.

You will be responsible for leading projects to deliver agreed outcomes within time, cost, and quality requirements, managing internal fee expectations alongside risk mitigation and change management. You will collaborate with clients, design teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities include managing programme, budget, and risks throughout the project lifecycle; ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental legislation, and CDM regulations; providing regular updates on project progress and performance; developing projects during early lifecycle phases including optioneering and consenting; managing design stages with focus on safety, risk, deliverability, and programme; supporting tendering processes; managing project delivery, commissioning, and post-completion requirements; acting as the key interface between internal and external teams; coordinating contractors and project teams; managing complex third-party issues including land, consents, and community stakeholders; chairing progress and cost review meetings; and leading, coaching, and influencing others effectively.

Experience
- Proven experience in electrical infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation applicable to complex projects.
- Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HS&E) management systems and requirements.
- Experience in environmental management and control.
- Familiarity with technical documentation.
- Experience managing NEC contracts in project delivery.
- Knowledge of risk management processes for schedule and cost analysis.
- Understanding of project handover records.
- Experience with formal hazard review processes.
- Understanding of procurement associated with complex projects.

Qualifications
- Degree qualified with a minimum of five years relevant regulated industry experience OR HNC/HND qualified with a minimum of seven years relevant regulated industry experience.
- Membership of a relevant professional institute.
- Recognised training or qualifications in health, safety, and environmental fields (e.g. NEBOSH, SMSTS, IOSH).
