About the Role
Ealing is a vibrant West London borough with excellent transport links, a high rate of permanent staff, and a strong commitment to staff development through a Career Progression scheme and wide-ranging training opportunities. The borough has been successful in promoting innovative social care practice.

As a Senior Social Worker in the Children with Disabilities team, you will manage a complex caseload of approximately 16-18 children. You will undertake duties in line with the Children Act 1989 and other relevant legislation, including investigating allegations of neglect or abuse, instigating Child Protection procedures, supervising children subject to Child Protection Plans, and assessing and supervising children looked after by Ealing.

You will prepare reports and statements for family courts, undertake assessments, design and implement care and protection plans, and promote quality standards and best practice. You will work with a high degree of professional accountability and autonomy, providing innovative social work services that prioritize keeping children with their families where possible or planning secure, permanent futures when necessary.

Additional responsibilities include promoting a learning culture, sharing best practice across the department and partnerships, undertaking complex assessments, making sound analytical judgements, and delivering innovative care packages within budgetary constraints in collaboration with partners and external agencies.

You will also support and supervise students through the practice educator framework and contribute to the learning and development of others. Your work will support the Council’s vision for Children’s Services aligned with corporate objectives.
