About the Role
At Longshot Systems we build advanced platforms for sports betting analytics and trading. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the team responsible for owning and developing our trading platform. As a small, focused company, this role suits someone who can architect and implement solutions to meet product, performance, and stability goals. The team owns technical standards, coding guidelines, CI/CD, observability, and security.
The trading platform integrates with numerous bookmakers and exchanges worldwide, normalising and combining global odds data for many sports and making it available internally for trading strategies. The platform handles thousands of odds updates and trades per second with strict requirements on latency, correctness, and overall quality.
You will be central to integrating new trading venues, optimising key parts of the platform, and enhancing trading safety and speed. The platform’s core systems are built in Golang, alongside message buses and databases. While fluency in Golang is not required, it is beneficial and supported by a team of experts.
We offer a hybrid working environment with a strong focus on shipping features and contributing to the technical excellence of the platform and team.

- Proven track record shipping products in small, fast-moving startup teams
- Experience delivering and maintaining production systems in at least one systems programming language (Go, C++, Rust, Java, C#, etc.) with clear, idiomatic designs
