We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative Senior Strategy & Policy Officer to join the Corporate Strategy & Partnerships Service. In this role, you will play a key part in addressing the borough’s biggest challenges and opportunities by shaping strategy and policy across Tower Hamlets and leading high-impact strategic projects that improve residents’ lives.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of a borough-wide movement for change, helping to shape collaborative ways of working, tackle inequality, and drive meaningful improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategy and policy development by working with key stakeholders to create strategies and plans that deliver the borough’s vision.
- Own and lead strategic projects with council services and external partners aligned to shared priorities.
- Translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, supporting partners and services to deliver real change on the ground.
- Build and broker relationships with anchor institutions, businesses, community organisations, and residents to co-design and implement impactful initiatives.
- Support innovation and learning by fostering experimentation, sharing lessons, and scaling successful approaches.
- Champion equity and inclusion by ensuring work reflects the borough’s diversity and addresses systemic inequalities.

Experience
- Proven experience leading strategy development and managing strategic projects.
- Ability to use data and insight to understand complex challenges and develop solutions.
- Strong facilitation and engagement skills, with experience engaging elected members, senior officers, and residents.
- Good political awareness and understanding of working within complex organisational and community landscapes.
- Strong relationship-building skills with a range of stakeholders.
