About the Role
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulates financial services firms in the UK to keep financial markets fair, thriving and effective. By joining us, you will play a key part in protecting consumers, driving economic growth and shaping the future of UK financial services. The Senior Supervisor role sits within the Supervision, Policy & Competition (SPC) division, specifically in the Market Interventions (MI), Asset Management and Funds Department. This team supervises asset management firms using data-driven oversight and collaboration across the FCA and industry to address key harms and ensure good outcomes for consumers and markets.

The Asset Servicing and Asset Management team promotes market integrity and protects investors by providing a holistic supervisory view of risks across the asset management value chain. The team supervises custody banks, depositaries, fund service providers, and some of the world’s largest asset managers and global systemically important banks (G-SIBs).

This varied and purpose-driven role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the UK financial services sector by delivering impactful supervisory strategies that address key sector risks, respond to emerging developments, prevent harm to consumers and markets, and support effective competition and sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities include analysing complex business models and strategies across banking and asset management to identify emerging risks and protect consumers and markets; shaping and delivering outcomes-focused supervisory strategies using a wide range of regulatory tools; engaging with senior leaders and stakeholders to set clear expectations and influence decisions; leading and contributing to high-profile thematic reviews and cross-sector initiatives; and building effective partnerships across the FCA and industry to deliver meaningful regulatory outcomes that increase trust in financial services.

- Experience managing internal and external stakeholders at all levels, building effective relationships and shaping outcomes
- Experience within the asset management sector in a risk, compliance, or consulting capacity, bringing sound judgement and understanding of regulatory expectations

About you
- A deep commitment to the FCA’s purpose and values, with a clear intention to contribute to positive outcomes for consumers, markets and the wider financial services sector
- Collaborative and supportive team player who values diverse perspectives and works effectively with others to meet shared goals
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to develop trusted partnerships and work constructively with senior leaders and a broad range of stakeholders
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, confident in providing thoughtful challenge, facilitating open dialogue and communicating complex issues clearly and sensitively
- Ability to handle complexity, uncertainty and change while balancing multiple priorities effectively
- Commitment to continuous learning, staying open to growth, seeking new opportunities and quickly developing expertise in unfamiliar subjects
