About the Role
We are seeking a professionally qualified Youth Work practitioner (JNC Recognised) or a candidate willing to undertake a 3-year Level 6 distance learning course via the apprenticeship levy fund. The Youth Service will provide one day per week to support this training, with other requirements such as assignments completed in your own time. You will manage and deliver Centre Based Youth Work or similar, overseeing a team of Youth Workers, Tutors, and Volunteers. Your primary focus will be to develop and implement strategies, curriculum/programmes, and monitoring and evaluation procedures to ensure high-quality youth work practice. This includes working with vulnerable young people aged 11-19 (up to 25 years for those with learning disabilities/difficulties), including those known to Social Care, Youth Justice, or with disabilities/learning difficulties.

You will be responsible for health & safety, fire safety, and risk management processes, including key building responsibilities at the Youth Centre. The role involves partnership working with community groups and multi-agency teams to enhance opportunities for young people. You will also be expected to be creative and proactive in applying for grants and managing the Youth Centre’s resources and budget.

The role requires working across various settings including Youth Centres, schools, and outreach work. Ealing Council is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, following safer recruitment practices. The post holder will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and an enhanced vetting process. This is a customer-facing role requiring a sufficient command of spoken English as per Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK, with evidence requested at interview.
