About the Role
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulates financial services firms in the UK to keep financial markets fair, thriving, and effective. By joining us, you will play a key part in protecting consumers, driving economic growth, and shaping the future of UK financial services.

This role sits within the Enforcement & Market Oversight Division, specifically in the Enforcement Intelligence and Specialist Services Directorate’s Specialist Intelligence Department. The Data Exploitation team delivers advanced intelligence capabilities through expert teams that generate strategic insights into economic crime, proactively detect threats, and collaborate across the FCA and with external partners to prevent serious financial harm.

As the Sensitive Data Exploitation Team Lead, you will lead the development and delivery of innovative approaches to exploiting large-scale financial intelligence datasets. You will identify emerging financial crime threats, high-harm actors, networks, and systemic vulnerabilities that present significant risks to consumers and markets. You will identify opportunities where financial intelligence can provide unique regulatory, supervisory, and enforcement value, improving the FCA's understanding of emerging risks, criminal behaviours, market vulnerabilities, and opportunities for disruption.

You will lead, grow, and performance manage a multidisciplinary team of intelligence and data specialists, fostering a culture of innovation, curiosity, experimentation, and continuous learning to develop advanced exploitation capabilities. You will oversee the production of high-quality, data-led intelligence assessments and operational packages, translating complex analytical outputs into actionable insights that support strategic and tactical interventions by internal and external partners.

- Significant project delivery and oversight of acquisition and exploitation of intelligence data
- Experience in at least one of the following: intelligence analysis (e.g., OSINT, SOCMINT), investigations, and/or financial services sector; experience with economic or financial crime issues is particularly valued

About you
- Excellent communication skills, capable of delivering both strategic and tactical briefings to stakeholders of varying seniority
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with a variety of internal and external partners, setting direction of engagement and leading projects to improve stakeholder business processes and workflows
- Ability to articulate how data can be used to drive both tactical and strategic decision-making, spotting opportunities where a data-led approach can improve outcomes
- Excellent workload management skills for both personal workload and managing a team of associate analysts
