About the Role
Wates Construction – London Division is seeking two Site Quantity Surveyors to support the successful delivery of key projects across the capital. As a Site Quantity Surveyor, you will play a critical role in the day-to-day commercial management of projects on site. Working closely with project teams, you will ensure costs are controlled, risks are managed, and value is maximised throughout the project lifecycle. This role offers exposure to a diverse range of construction projects across London and welcomes candidates from a variety of sector backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial aspects of projects from procurement through to final account
- Prepare, review, and administer subcontract packages, including procurement and appointment
- Monitor project costs, valuations, and forecasts, ensuring financial performance is maintained
- Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Prepare and submit applications for payment and manage cash flow effectively
- Handle variations, change control processes, and associated negotiations
- Work closely with site and project teams to ensure accurate cost reporting and programme alignment
- Support dispute avoidance and resolution where required
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders

Experience
- Experience in a Quantity Surveyor or Site Quantity Surveyor role within a construction environment
- Strong understanding of commercial management on live projects
- Working knowledge of NEC and/or JCT forms of contract
- Proven experience managing subcontractors and cost control processes

Qualifications
Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (desirable)
