About the Role
Helping others improve and turn their lives around – there’s no better feeling. Join Cygnet Health Care at our Ealing site as a Social Therapist, working as part of a multidisciplinary team on an in-patient ward. With supervision, support, and training, you will deliver interventions defined within personalised care plans, engaging and supporting service users, families, carers, and friends through their recovery pathway. You will facilitate activities, groups, and ward-based projects, and be actively involved in all aspects of the physical, psychological, and social care of people using our service.
Sunrise Ward is a 14-bed highly specialised eating disorder service for women, including those with extremely low BMIs. The focus is on supporting individuals to attain a healthy BMI and prepare for a return home. Cygnet Hospital Ealing offers a welcoming, non-institutional environment with personalised treatment for service users with eating disorders or personality disorders across two separate wards.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Assessing service users for social therapy as part of a multidisciplinary needs assessment
- Planning and delivering social therapy observations and activities, and determining their effectiveness
- Providing individual and group therapy work relating to social situations
- Monitoring, evaluating, and adapting ongoing clinical work according to each individual’s needs
- Attending clinical meetings and communicating with colleagues, agencies, families, and carers
- Complying with professional codes of practice
Please note: Due to the nature of the service, we are currently only able to consider female applicants.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
