About the Role
We are seeking dedicated, qualified and experienced Social Workers to join our Assessment teams. Key responsibilities include conducting assessments of children and young people’s circumstances to determine appropriate interventions, planning and implementing actions for allocated cases, providing professional advice to colleagues and partner agencies, liaising with internal and external teams to support children, young people and carers, and carrying out all duties with safeguarding awareness.

You will also provide advice and support to assist children and young people with financial assessments, proactively develop your professional knowledge and skills, and act in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures.

This role requires you to hold UK work authorisation that does not require visa sponsorship.

Experience
- Proven social work experience or placement in children and families settings with a minimum of one year’s post-qualifying experience.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of issues relating to children in need, child protection, and looked-after children, including relevant legislation, guidance and procedures.
- Experience delivering culturally sensitive services responsive to a multi-cultural community.
- Ability to prioritise and work effectively under pressure.
- Experience managing quality services and meeting key performance indicators.
- Ability to work well within a team and maintain clear reporting lines.

Qualifications
- Understanding of the Children Acts 1989 and 2004 and other relevant legislation, procedures and guidance relating to children and families (desirable).
- Awareness of current issues in childcare policy and practice (desirable).

- Understanding and compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
- Continued professional body registration.
- Satisfactory enhanced DBS check and safer recruitment practices compliance.
