About the Role
As a Social Worker at Barnet Council, you will provide a high standard of social work to adults and/or carers in line with the Council’s duties under the Care Act 2014 and Barnet policies, procedures, and the Code of Practice for social care workers. You will conduct professional assessments focused on meeting social care outcomes, safeguard adults and carers at risk of harm by promoting Making Safeguarding Personal principles, and undertake individualised, outcomes-led care and support planning. Your role will support people to maintain their health, well-being, and independence by providing access to quality information, advice, and signposting to local preventative services, with an emphasis on building resilience and strengths to achieve important personal outcomes.

Experience
Professional qualifications in Social Work and registration with Social Work England are required. A clear understanding of social and health care within the community is essential. Experience in conducting robust assessments, risk assessments, support plans, and reviews is expected.
About you
You should demonstrate the ability to assess and record eligible and non-eligible needs using evidence-based practice. A strong commitment to supporting choice and independence for service users and carers within the community is vital. You must be able to apply relevant social care legislation, guidance, and practice effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate self-assessments and collaborative working are important.
Qualifications
Professional Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England are mandatory for this role.
