About the Role
We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our exceptional Events Culinary team at a leading global investment bank in Central London. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, fine dining environment overseeing 29 private dining rooms and an events space catering for up to 1700 guests. You will have full autonomy across seasonal brochures, from breakfast to a la carte lunch to canapés, allowing you to bring your own flair and creativity to the menu.

As part of a passionate and dedicated team, you will take full responsibility for the Conference Centre kitchen, managing food production, preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain the highest standards of quality. You will contribute to menu writing and engineering, bringing innovation and trending ingredients to our offerings. Cross-skilling in the Fine Dining kitchen and supporting senior chefs during absences will also be part of your role.

Key responsibilities include ensuring health and safety compliance, liaising with the Purchasing team for timely orders, managing food production standards and costs, and delivering an exceptional client-focused service. You will be influential in expanding our operation and enhancing our culinary offerings while maintaining calm and effective communication under pressure.

Requirements

Experience
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role
- Experience managing large events or conferences with 500+ guests
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to lead and mentor a brigade of chefs

About you
- Passionate about food and hospitality with a creative and innovative approach
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and communicate effectively
- Flexible and adaptable to the demands of the service, including last-minute requests

Qualifications
- NVQ qualification or equivalent
- Food Safety and Hygiene certification
- Strong knowledge of allergy management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
