Job Description
To assist the with the safe supervision alongside and in the absence of the Head chef, all food production preparation, cooking and presentation, ensuring the company’s reputation food quality is maintained at all times.
To ensure food production, standards, costs and menu planning are carried out in a timely fashion, as agreed with the Head Chef/
To carry out the smooth and efficient running of the section as appropriate
To assist the Senior Sous chef with compiling food orders and developing new food concepts.
To plan, prepare, cook and present food to the standards required by the company and the client.
To ensure that the company’s reputation for excellent food and service is enhanced with the client and customers.
Actively take part in menu engineering alongside Head chef /Executive chef
The ability to keep calm under pressure and communicate effectively with the team
To be organized and efficient with tasks and time management
To be able to take ownership of tasks as directed by senior chefs
To inspire, motivate and mentor junior members of the team
Promote and maintain a safe working environment
To have knowledge and understanding of current food trends and seasonality
Assist any reasonable requests from HOD’s
Qualifications
Experience in a previous role
Experience in a contract catering environment
Ability to prioritise
Good communication
Passion for food, and innovative with new ideas
Good team management
