About the Role
Are you a committed and highly skilled Level 5 Specialist Teacher eager to make a meaningful impact on the educational outcomes of children and young people with additional needs? Join our Literacy and Numeracy Support Service, working across a range of primary and secondary schools in Wandsworth. You will support pupils on SEN Support or with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), many of whom have co-occurring difficulties, helping them access learning and improve attainment through tailored specialist teaching and advice.
The service is fully traded, with schools purchasing our support, and also provides central training and works on projects to promote inclusive practice and effective approaches. You will deliver specialist teaching, provide advice to school staff and parents, and conduct needs-based assessments for literacy and numeracy to inform targeted interventions and provision planning. Flexibility and reflection in your approach will be essential to ensure interventions meet identified needs.
You will be part of a team of eight specialist teachers, all holding Level 7 or higher qualifications in SpLD, including the service manager. Your role will also include one-off assessments, access arrangements, and participation in fortnightly team meetings to maintain cohesion and consistency in service delivery.
We offer a collaborative and supportive team environment, opportunities for professional development and training, and the chance to make a real difference in the lives of learners with additional needs.
