About the Role
As a Specialist Speech & Language Therapist, you will act as the clinic link for a clinic-based caseload, ensuring efficient administration and leading teamwork within this setting. You will contribute to improving the patient and client experience by managing a complex caseload independently and being accountable for your professional actions. You will provide effective speech and language therapy assessment and intervention within a team around the child and multi-disciplinary framework. Your role includes planning, setting up, and monitoring specialist treatment programmes to be carried out by parents, carers, teaching and support staff in appropriate settings. You will monitor and review the progress of children on your caseload, ensuring evidence of sound clinical practice with due regard for cultural and linguistic differences. Additionally, you will hold an overview of the therapists’ caseload, monitoring demand and capacity, identifying areas of risk, emerging needs, staffing levels, and service development opportunities, advising your line manager accordingly. You will also ensure strong development of yourself and contribute to the development of others.

Experience
Experience managing a complex caseload independently within a speech and language therapy setting is essential. Proven ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and lead clinic-based caseload administration.

Qualifications
Qualified Speech and Language Therapist with relevant professional registration. Specialist training or experience in paediatric speech and language therapy is desirable.
