About the Role
We're looking for experienced support workers to join us at Dimensions, working in a specialist supported living home supporting a young woman in her early 30s. This is a 2:1, single-person home that requires experienced, emotionally resilient staff who understand complex behaviours and are passionate about building trusting relationships. The person we support has a learning disability, Smith-Magenis Syndrome, autism, ADHD, and PTSD. There are complex behaviours of distress which can often be linked to feeling unheard, unsafe, or rejected. Much of your role will centre around emotional regulation, positive engagement, and helping her feel understood. You'll spend your time helping her feel supported through day-to-day life, which may include cooking meals together, assisting with personal care, or supporting her to attend social groups she enjoys. You'll receive full training and support from our in-house positive behavioural support team. The home has a well-developed PBS plan that helps staff understand and work through situations with confidence. Our manager will support you directly during your induction, and you'll work alongside experienced colleagues while you settle in. This isn't just a job; it requires time, patience, consistency, and the ability to work through difficult moments without giving up on someone. With the right team in place, she thrives on humour and shared interests, including Barbie, Only Fools and Horses, being around animals, social groups, and getting out into the community. Shifts are 24-hour cover, including early shifts (7am to 2:30pm), lates (2:15pm to 9:45/10pm), nights (9:45pm-7:15am), and occasional long days, ideally with alternate weekend cover.
