About the Role
We are seeking a kind, patient, and reliable Support Worker to provide 1:1 support at home and 2:1 support in the community for a young man in his 20s with a learning disability. This is a complex support role where you will help him feel safe and settled through consistent and compassionate care. He communicates verbally on his own terms and enjoys having people around, even if he does not always engage directly. He loves daily outings by car to parks, museums, zoos, and other places he enjoys. At home, he prefers quiet interests and his own space.
Your responsibilities will include helping with personal care (some tasks he completes independently), supporting meal preparation, food shopping and cooking, monitoring his environment to reduce risk, and assisting with daily routines. The role involves working within a well-managed Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plan, and full Proact-SCIP training will be provided.
You will join a well-trained and supported team proud to work for Dimensions, recognised as one of the UK's Great Places to Work. We invest in our teams, listen to feedback, and ensure you feel valued and supported every day.
Benefits include 30 days annual leave (including bank holidays) rising to 35 days with service, pension scheme with employer contributions, paid training and financial bonuses for completing qualifications, discounts and cashback on shopping via Rewarding Dimensions, a 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme, long service awards with financial bonuses every five years, optional discounted health and dental cover through Simply Health, and a £500 'Recommend a Friend' bonus.
Experience
Experience is helpful but not essential. What matters most is your attitude and willingness to learn.
About you
You are calm, observant, kind, patient, reliable, and have a good sense of humour. You are committed to providing compassionate support and working as part of a team.
Qualifications
A UK Manual Driving Licence is essential for this role. An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required, the cost of which will be covered by Dimensions.
