About the Role
Join our L&Q Living Team at Everall Court and make a positive impact every day by supporting adults with high mental health support needs to build the skills required for independent living. We are looking for enthusiastic and compassionate Support Workers who share our values and are eager to help others. Experience is not essential as we provide full training; a caring attitude and willingness to learn are what matter most.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Resident Advocacy: Ensuring residents’ voices are heard and their needs represented in meetings with professionals and agencies.
- Promoting Independence: Supporting residents to develop life skills for independent living, including managing daily tasks and engaging in community activities.
- Housing & Scheme Support: Monitoring repairs, conducting health and safety inspections, liaising with contractors and fire risk assessors, and assisting with estate checks to maintain a safe environment.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate support plans, risk assessments, and daily notes using basic IT tools.
- Problem-Solving and Crisis Management: Addressing issues independently, making effective crisis interventions, and escalating when necessary.
- Recovery-Based Support: Assisting with recovery and relapse support, advocating for necessary treatment.
- Team Collaboration: Working closely with colleagues, external professionals, and stakeholders to deliver personalised, high-quality support.

Experience
Experience is not essential. We value a caring attitude and willingness to learn. Relevant skills from other sectors, such as customer service, are welcomed and transferable.

- Effective written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and engagement with residents, families, and professionals.
- Competent IT skills to update records and manage administrative tasks.
- Awareness of health and safety standards, including lone working procedures and safeguarding.
- Passionate and caring with a genuine interest in supporting individuals with mental health needs.
- Adaptable and quick-thinking, able to make decisions independently while knowing when to seek support.
- Person-centred approach, treating residents with dignity and focusing on their personal goals.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will need to apply for or hold an Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) certificate to work within the team. No other formal qualifications are required as full training will be provided.
