About the Role
The Team Manager is responsible for managing the operational day-to-day service delivery of a multi-disciplinary social work team within the 16+ Service. You will manage and oversee staff to ensure effective delivery of services to children, young people, and their families through high quality social work in line with standards of good practice, legislation, and guidance. You will lead and monitor staff to ensure robust recording of information on relevant systems and databases, capturing and evidencing the voice of the child.
In this role, you will assist the Service Manager and Head of Service in planning and developing services for vulnerable children, young people, and their families by identifying needs and potential challenges, escalating issues as appropriate. You will effectively manage budgets to ensure services are cost effective, produce reports, and attend meetings and forums as required.
You will chair formal multi-disciplinary meetings, team meetings, panels, and reviews, and work collaboratively with partner agencies and the community to ensure an integrated approach to service delivery and the development of effective joint working partnerships. Providing supervision and appraisal to staff in line with standards set, you will encourage professional development opportunities.
Promoting systemic, face-to-face practice, you will ensure purposeful work is undertaken by the team with children, young people, and families that adhere to timescales and improve outcomes.
Experience
- Operational leadership of diverse statutory teams in a complex or multi-agency management environment
- Managing social workers and influencing the quality of social work practice to meet the needs of children and their families
- Influencing service provision in partner agencies without direct line management responsibility
- Providing coaching, mentoring, and/or supervision with evidence of positive outcomes within children’s social care
- Working within a systemic model of practice and applying systemic supervision

Qualifications
- Relevant Social Work Qualification
- Registered with Social Work England
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, and practices related to child social care practice
