About the Role
This role leads the management of temporary accommodation across a diverse range of property types including hostels, shared family homes, self-contained units secured through spot-purchase with specialist providers, leased properties from private owners, and accommodation within the Council's own housing stock. The post holder will ensure all properties meet health and safety standards, repair obligations are fulfilled, and voids and income loss are minimised. The role also involves managing contractors and maintaining positive relationships with homeless households and housing providers. Additionally, the role includes responsibility for managing the emergency out-of-hours rota, with occasional cover required and enhancements paid in accordance with policy.

Experience
Proven experience in managing temporary accommodation or similar housing services is essential. Experience working with diverse property types and managing contractors is highly desirable.

You will have strong knowledge of the needs and services available to residents, with the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of service providers, advocates, and agencies. You should be able to manage relationships effectively with homeless households and housing providers. Flexibility to manage an emergency out-of-hours rota is required.
Qualifications
Relevant housing management qualifications or equivalent experience are preferred but not explicitly stated. A commitment to health and safety standards and excellent organisational skills are essential.
