About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS trusts, providing a wide range of hospital and community services across south London and specialist care for patients from further afield. The Trust is renowned for clinical excellence, teaching, and research, and is part of King’s Health Partners, an accredited UK academic health sciences centre. We pride ourselves on delivering high quality, safe care with a focus on patient experience and staff engagement.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Acute Tobacco Dependence Treatment Team as a Tobacco Dependence Treatment Specialist. You will work as part of a small, experienced team delivering tobacco dependence treatment across two hospital sites. The role involves developing and delivering services aligned with the NHS Long Term Plan for tobacco, including ward-based interventions, outpatient clinics, and multidisciplinary team training. This position supports the Trust’s commitment to prevention and optimising physical health and wellbeing.

The post holder will contribute to the Trust’s initiatives such as the Long Term Plan (LTP) and Vital 5 programmes, helping to promote and improve patient health through tobacco dependence treatment. You will be responsible for training clinical staff in very brief advice (VBA), monitoring compliance with core care standards, delivering clinical interventions for withdrawal management and smoking cessation, managing outpatient clinics, and supporting the ongoing development and roll-out of tobacco dependence programmes.

The team is friendly and well-established, guided by the Trust’s values of Caring, Ambitious, and Inclusive, ensuring compassionate, innovative, and collaborative care.
