About the Role
Matternet is on a mission to make access to goods as frictionless and universal as access to information. Since 2017, we have completed over 60,000 drone flights across healthcare and e-commerce sectors, pioneering urban medical drone routes in Switzerland and delivering essentials to homes in the US. We are expanding our UK operations to support the NHS Drone Delivery Network, revolutionizing the transport of medicines, tests, and supplies between hospitals and patients.
As a UAS Operations and Maintenance Technician, you will split your time between ground operations and maintaining our drone fleet to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient deliveries for NHS sites. You will work closely with the UK Operations Lead and global teams to operate flights, conduct equipment testing and maintenance, and represent Matternet in the field. This hands-on role combines the excitement of flight operations with the responsibility of keeping every system functioning flawlessly.
Experience
- Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Technical background in UAS systems, aviation maintenance, or electronics
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
- UAS operational experience, including specific category operations (preferred)
- Working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Excellent communication skills with technical teams and customers
- Flexibility to travel and work varied schedules
- Ability to work onsite full-time
- Willingness to undergo background check and hold a valid LAPL medical certificate
Qualifications
- Pilot license (e.g., A2 CofC, GVC, PPL, CPL) is a great addition
- EASA Part-66 Aircraft Maintenance Certifications desirable
- Experience building drone platforms advantageous
