About the Role
We are seeking a Visitor Experience Duty Manager to join our Visitor Experience team on a full-time permanent contract. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team dedicated to delivering a world-class experience to all visitors at Southbank Centre, ensuring the site is safe, secure, and well maintained. You will represent Southbank Centre as a friendly and welcoming destination for visitors, staff, and performers, providing a pleasurable, accessible, and well-organised experience across a busy, multi-venue site.

Key responsibilities include leading the delivery of exceptional customer service by being knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient; managing multiple events simultaneously such as concerts, outdoor events, and free programming; taking charge during emergencies to ensure the safety of all public and staff, including making decisions to stop events and evacuate if necessary; maintaining high standards across all spaces and reporting issues promptly; and overseeing the ongoing performance management of allocated team members, including absence management and pastoral care.

Southbank Centre is the UK’s largest arts centre, hosting a variety of venues including the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room, and Hayward Gallery. This role offers the chance to contribute to making Southbank Centre the world’s most exciting centre for the arts.

Experience
Proven experience in venue management, preferably within a multi-faceted arts environment or performance venue. Demonstrable ability to lead and motivate large teams in a fast-paced, audience-focused setting. Working knowledge of Health and Safety, Fire Regulations, and holding a Personal Licence.

Qualifications
Personal Licence Holder is required. Other relevant qualifications or training in venue management, health and safety, or related fields are advantageous.
