Job Description
Baxterstorey is seeking a professional and efficient Waiter/Hospitality Assistant to join our team in London, United Kingdom. As a key member of our hospitality staff, you will be responsible for ensuring our guests have an excellent dining experience.
Greet and welcome guests in a professional manner
Take food and drink orders accurately and efficiently
Serve meals and beverages in a timely and courteous manner
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the dining area
Respond promptly and professionally to guest enquiries and requests
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely food service
Adhere to and enforce food safety and hygiene standards
Assist with setting up and breaking down dining areas as required
Contribute to a positive team atmosphere
Promote daily specials and menu items to guests
Manage seating arrangements efficiently, especially during peak hours
Develop comprehensive knowledge of menu items and ingredients
Address and resolve guest concerns in a professional manner
Participate in ongoing training to enhance hospitality skills
Upsell and cross-sell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase revenue
Handle reservations and manage the booking system efficiently
Assist with special events or functions, including set-up and service
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of allergens and dietary requirements to ensure guest safety
Collaborate effectively with other departments to ensure smooth overall operations
Qualifications
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour
Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written
Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
Keen attention to detail and commitment to high standards of service
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and carry trays of food and drinks
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Previous experience in hospitality or food service is preferred but not essential
Ability to work legally in the United Kingdom
Willingness to adhere to grooming standards and wear a company uniform
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, or willingness to learn
Ability to multitask and prioritise duties efficiently in a busy environment
Enthusiasm for food and beverage service and willingness to expand product knowledge
Resilience and ability to remain calm under pressure, especially during peak service times
