Hours
Fixed term contract for 12 months, Tuesday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm, 35 hours per week exclusive of breaks. Additional hours in evenings and weekends may be required with time in lieu granted. No extra payments for additional hours worked.

About the Role
Shakespeare's Globe is seeking an inspiring Youth Theatre and Learning Manager to oversee the established Globe Youth Theatre programme, serving approximately 200 young people aged 8-19 with around 10 staff on site every Saturday during term time. This role is focused on programme management rather than session delivery, ensuring the smooth running and high-quality provision of the Youth Theatre sessions delivered by freelance Globe Education Practitioners. The postholder will also contribute to the wider Learning team’s operations as a line manager and part of the team’s leadership group.

Key responsibilities include managing scheduling, staffing, and logistics for weekly youth theatre sessions and two annual sharings of Globe Youth Theatre work on the Globe’s stages. The role involves driving high standards in confidence, collaboration, new friendships, enjoyment, and performance skills among young participants, as well as line managing three direct reports within the Learning team.

The Team
The Education Department at Shakespeare’s Globe delivers a year-round programme of activities aligned with values of social justice, access, and Shakespeare for all. The Learning team, consisting of 10 members including this role, coordinates extensive activity for schools, teachers, and young people outside school settings.

Experience
- Proven track record working successfully in a Youth Theatre setting.
- Experience managing direct reports with the ability to lead, motivate, and inspire.
- Demonstrable passion for helping young people learn and broaden their horizons, especially those experiencing inequality.
